Executive Secretary Pacquito Ochoa will fill in the position to be vacated by resigned Interior and Local Secretary Mar Roxas.
According to sources, Ochoa will assume the DILG post for a month while President Benigno Aquino III has yet to appoint a permanent replacement for Roxas.
This will not be the first time that Ochoa has been tasked to become DILG-Officer-In-Charge. He was appointed by President Aquino first when the late DILG Secretary Jesse Robredo died from a plane accident.
The sources added that it is impossible for Western Samar Rep. Senen Sarmiento, the liberal Party Secretary General to take the DILG position for he has plans on running for governor in the 2016 elections. (Malou Cabral)
