It would be difficult for the Senate to amend the Economic provisions of the Constitution as they still have their hands full with the Bangsamoro Basic Law.
According to Senator Serge Osmena, the Senate is busy with the BBL and have no time to review the issue on economic cha-char.
The “Sine Die Adjournment” of the two houses of Congress will be on June 10, and session will open in July, for President Benigno Aquino III’s last “State of the Nation Address.”
Osmena said that when session resumes in July, they will be busy with the budget hearings already.
The economic cha-cha made it pass the second reading in Congress.
The said proposal aims to allow foreign nationals with investments in the country to be able to buy properties.
