Persistent bus drivers will be slapped with P500 up to P2,000 fine if they try to enter Manila City.
According to Manila City Vice Mayor Isko Moreno, starting today issuance of tickets will start today if bus drivers will defy the city ordinance.
The city resolution no. 48 started on Tuesday as bus drivers were stopped by traffic enforcers for entering Manila territory.
Bus drivers complained that there are no notices regarding the resolution.
Moreno countered, saying that: “Why all of a sudden there are bus drivers who are not informed? Chances are they are colorum buses. Of course, you will not be notified if you do not have a legitimate franchise,” Moreno said in a press conference.
He also explained that the city, along with Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada studied the suggestions of bus operators, who are against the total bus ban, particularly having city bus terminals and having bus stops where the vehicles will pass. (Kisses Jabson)
