The proposed school calendar by the University of the Philippines from June to August will cover is elementary and high school students enrolled in various programs nationwide.
In a news report, UP vice president for public affairs Prospero de Vera said basic education programs maintained by various UP units are not under the Department of Education (DepEd).
Among the UP schools not covered by the DepEd jurisdiction are UP College of Education in Diliman, UP Rural High School in Los Baños and UP high school in Cebu.
Based on the proposal, UP wants to shift the new school calendar from June to August or September. It’s still pending before the UP Board of Regents, the university’s highest policy-making body.
