Government agencies will be obligated to approve and release permits and licenses in just three days. This is if Senate Bill 982, also known as the Anti-red tape Act, will be legislated.
According to Senator Panfilo Lacson, author of SB 982, the proposal seeks to hasten the transactions of gov’t agencies in order to prevent corruption, and to better the service of their agencies.
Under the said bill, permits and licenses must be released within three days, while complicated transactions are given seven days.
Sen. Lacson also revealed that permits or licenses not released in the given time frame will be immediately approved, except if the agency has a severe excuse.
SB 982 is in response to the directive of President Rodrigo Duterte for all gov’t agencies to quicken the processing time of their transactions and to reduce their requirements.
