The National Capital Region Police Office is investigating 70 of their members for their alleged involvement in illegal activities and for misbehavior.

C/Supt. Oscar Albayalde, director of the NCRPO, said that most of the suspected corrupt, rude, and sloppy police are rookies or have a rank of Police Office 1.

Albayalde further added that most police scalawags are involved in cases of extortion, illegal drugs, and kidnap for ransom.

Also most of the police being investigated are assigned in districts with the most police deployment, including Manila Police District, Quezon City Police District, and Southern Police District.

Albayalde further insisted that action is needed in order to cleanse the PNP from rogue police even if the said number is only small compared to 29,000 police that make up the NCRPO force.

The PNP is also currently reviewing their problems in the recruitment of new police.
