The National Capital Region Police Office insisted that the whole Caloocan – Philippine National Police needed to be relieved since the crime in the city is becoming like a culture to them.
According to NCRPO Director Oscar Albayalde, the relieved police officers will once again undergo re-training before resuming service and being assigned to an area outside Caloocan City.
P/Dir. Albayalde further added that cops should serve the public and not themselves. The NCRPO head also thanked the house owner who reported the police raid last September 7.
P/Dir. Albayalde promised to carry out a thorough investigation of the incident, and fears that the Caloocan police has committed similar crimes in the past.
P/Dir. Albayalde also asked that the public immediately report police abuses and similar incidents.
“Gusto natin malaman kung gaano kalawak at kalalim yung problema na iyan, baka ito ay naging parang kultura na diyan sa may Caloocan. Baka naging kultura na ng mga pulis na naka-assign diyan sa Caloocan city police office. Kaya minamabuti na natin na tanggalin na silang lahat.” P/Dir. Albayalde said during an interview.
P/Dir. Albayalde ordered the dismissal of the whole Caloocan police force due to a viral video that showed a warrantless police raid in Barangay 188, Tala, North Caloocan last Sept. 7.
