A foreign national failed to jump off the curb side of the NAIA Terminal 1 Departure area earlier today.
According to PNP-Aviation Security Group Public Information Officer Chief Insp. Samuel Hojilla, Qatar national Saud Salman Altani tried to commit suicide around 9:15 am. Based from Hijilla’s account, the victim climbed at the cemented railing of the bridge of the departure area of terminal 1 and begged not to be approached or talked to.
The Qatar national became emotion as soon as his plane arrived at the airport and called his relatives.
Negotiators from different offices in the airport tried talking him out from jumping off the railing but the victim later on calmed down and was convinced to go down from the railing. (with DZRH Sherwin Bata Alfaro)
