The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board reprimanded broadcaster Arnold Clavio, and his show “Unang Hirit” for an episode that was aired last November 7, where in Clavio lashed out on Atty. Alfredo Villamor.
MTRCB issued a “Grave and Serious Admonition” against Clavio, the show’s executive producer, director, writer and the other hosts as well. They are asked to go through a mandatory seminar to be facilitated by MTRCB Chairman Eugenio Villareal. It is scheduled on Dec. 10-11 at the MTRCB office.
Clavio, on November 7 called on Atty. Villamor, one of Pork Barrel Fund scam mastermind’ Janet Lim-Napoles’ lawyers on air and wanted to ask the latter about the case of his client. However, Villamor wasn’t at liberty to answer such questions because he’s assign with Napoles’ Illegal Detention case and not with the Pork Barrel fund scam case.
This allegedly irked the TV host. Clavio then proceeded to lambast Villamor.
Netizens were outraged with Clavio’s behavior and a few days after the incident, Clavio, through the same show, issued a public apology.
Meanwhile, the GMA network, Clavio’s home studio, submitted a letter to the MRCB with its proposed remedial and restitutive measures and Unang Hirit’s draft public statement.
The management also claimed that they have taken necessary actions to avoid such incident to happen again.
