The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has suspended the implementation of number coding on February 8 amid the celebration of the Chinese New Year in the country.

Malacanang Palace earlier declared the said date as a special non-working holiday.

Under the number coding scheme of the MMDA, vehicles with plate numbers ending in certain digits are not allowed to enter Metro Manila streets between the hours of 7am-7pm.
