The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) is looking to revive the Pasig River ferry system and would ask the Metro Rail Transit (MRT) and Light Rail Transit (LRT) for longer operations due to huge road constructions that would start on Monday.
MMDA chairman Francis Tolentino is convinced the ferry system is would solve the problems of infrastructure projects in Metro Manila that will result to heavy and confusing traffic.
Tolentino said the reviving of the ferry boat would add to public transportations.
If approved, the route to be taken by the boat would be Guadalupe to Escolta.
Meanwhile, the MMDA would also ask train operators in Metro Manila to extend its operating hours to lessen the traffic on the major roads as well as commuters.
