The Metro Manila Development Authority will be closely monitoring churches, and bus terminals due to the expected large crowd of people in the said venues during the Holy Week.
According to MMDA Spokesperson Celine Pialago, they will be deploying 1,854 personnel to bus terminals in Pasay, Cubao, Caloocan, and along Epifanio Delos Santos Avenue.
MMDA personnel will also be placed in Quiapo Church, Sto. Domingo Church, St. Peter Parish, Las Pinas Church, and EDSA Shrine during the holidays.
Pialago also said that their traffic enforcement unit will also be strictly enforcing the ‘Nose In, Nose Out’ policy in terminals to lessen the reasons for heavy traffic.
“Yung personnel namin ay nasa 1,800 personnel ang idedeploy, 1,854.” Pialago said during DZRH’s One On One.
The spokesperson added that they will also be strictly monitoring ‘chokepoints’ along Sampaloc, Taft Avenue, Lawton, and Quiapo, and exit and entry routes in Monumento, Balintawak, and Rizal Province.
MMDA will also be suspending the number coding scheme starting Holy Wednesday, March 28, for motorists.
