The military’s investigation is focused on the Ajang-Ajang group, a faction of the Abu Sayyaf Group, in connection with the twin bombing in the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cathedral in Jolo, Sulu.
The said bombing caused the lives of 20 people and injuring at least 120 others.
Based on a CCTV footage, one of the suspects in the bombing identified as alias “Kamah” was spotted around the area. He is allegedly a bother of Abu Sayyaf leader Surakah Ingog who was killed in one of the encounters with authorities.
According to Police Chief Dir. Gen. Oscar Albayalde, authorities were able to identify Kamah, who is known to be one of ASG’s bomb makers.
Aside from the PNP, the National Bureau of Investigation is also doing its separate investigation as per the directive of Department of Justice Sec. Menardo Guevarra.
