Water concessionaires Maynilad Water Services and Manila Water Company Inc. warned the public that they could implement rotational water service interruption starting Thursday, Oct. 24, because of limited water supply.
The two water service providers said that lack of rainfall caused a drop in the water levels of Angat and Ipo dams.
Maynilad and Manila Water stressed that they need to implement water service interruptions to ensure that there will be enough water supply for 2020 even if Angat Dam fails to reach the ideal water level of 212 meters.
The water utility firms urge the public to use water wisely and responsibly amidst the lack of water supply in the two dams.
“We request for your cooperation should we begin to implement the rotational water service interruption to ensure we have enough water supply in the coming months,” Manila Water said in an advisory.
“We appeal to our customers for their continued patience and understanding, as we try to manage the effects of the reduced allocation on our operations,” Maynilad said in an advisory.
A complete schedule of the planned rotational water service interruptions can be found in the website and social media accounts of Maynilad, and Manila Water.
