The family of Filipina drug convict Mary Jane Veloso went to Indonesia on Monday as they are set to visit her in prison as she celebrates her 31st birthday.
The Veloso family are glad to visit Mary Jane for the second time.
The Veloso family remains hopeful that Mary Jane will be freed soon.
Atty. Edre Olalia and Migrante Tights and Welfare Program Coordinator Laorence Castillo accompanied the family in their visit to Mary Jane.
According to Olalia, they are expected to visit the Pinay drug convict from January 12-14 in Yogyakarta prison.
On January 15, Migrante officials are set to meet with Veloso’s Indonesian lawyers to discuss the updates on her case.
Mary Jane was found guilty by the Indonesian court for smuggling illegal drugs in April 2010.
The Filipina convict was set to be executed by firing squad last April 2014 but at the last minute was granted a temporary reprieve.
