The Mapua Red Robins put a stop in the seven-year reign of the San Beda Red Cubs in the NCAA Junior’s Basketball.

During Thursday’s game at the Mall of Asia Arena, the Red Robbins pressured the Red Cubs throughout the game.

The Mapua defeated San Beda, 83-64.

The time Mapua won the championships in the NCAA Junior’s Basketball was in 2000 under coach Horacio Lim.

Current Mapua coach Randy Alcantara said that he is grateful with the victory of his team.

Meanwhile, in the world of Volleyball, the Philippine Superliga started preparing the new technology that they will be using for the FIVB Women’s Club World Championships.

According to reports, for the tournament, PSL will be using the Hawkeye Computer System, which is being used in the Olympics so that referees may be able to give accurate calls.

Coaches will be given tablets, wirelessly connected to the computers used by the officials for their time-outs and substitutions.

The team Volero Zurich has arrived in the country on Thursday while Rexona Sesc-Rio and Pomi Casalmaggiore came in early Friday morning.
