Manila policeman shot dead in Quezon City

A policeman was shot dead on Wednesday, June 3 by still unknown assailants in front of a gas station in Quezon City.

The victim, identified as MSgt. Edgar Morada, was a member of the Manila Police District (MPD) and died after obtaining several gunshots on his body. In a CCTV footage, the policeman was seen onboard his motorcycle parked in front of a gas station on the corner of Granada and Valencia Streets in Barangay Valencia around 12:55 PM.

However, minutes later, men riding a motorcycle, both wearing face masks, and helmets, repeatedly shot Morada. The policeman reportedly died on the spot.

Meanwhile, Quezon City Police District director PBGen. Joselito Esquivel Jr. condemned the incident saying that an intensive investigation will be conducted in order to identify the suspects.

“We will exert effort in our investigation to determine and to identify the perpetuation regarding the incident to develop justice,” Esquivel said.
