The Philippine Malditas ended their campaign in the 2020 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Women’s Olympic Qualifying Tournament with a 7-0 rout of Palestine on Wednesday, April 9, at the Saoud Bin Abdulrahman Stadium in Al Wakrah, Qatar.

Sara Castaneda and Eva Madrang each scored two goals for the victory of the Philippine national women’s football team against win-less Palestine.

Joyce Semacio, Patrice Impelido, and Alisha Del Campo each added a goal for the Philippine squad to seize their second win out of three games in the second round of the qualifiers.

However, even with their overwhelming victory, the Malditas failed to advance to the next round of the tournament as Chinese Taipei swept all three of their games in order to secure the top spot in Group C.

Only the top three teams in each group will qualify to the third round of the 2020 AFC Women’s Olympic Qualifying Tournament.
