Malacanang remains open on possibility that President Rodrigo Duterte may ratify as urgent the new version of the Anti-ENDO bill.
The Anti-ENDO bill aims to put an end to illegal contractualization of workers.
According to Presidential Spokesman Salvador Panelo, the President tasked Labor Secretar Silvestre Bello III to form a new version of the bill and submit it to Congress.
The said bill may be a combination of Sen. Joel Villanueva and Bello’s versions.
Meanwhile, Malacanang was quick to deny the allegations of BAYAN MUNA Rep. Carlos Zarate that President Duterte is just using as a diversionary tactic his order to shut down all gaming operations sanctioned by the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office to remove the public’s focus on his decision to veto the Anti-ENDO bill.
Panelo insisted that the President’s main priority is always the people’s welfare.
The Malacanang official added that if the President signed the previous version of the said bill, some establishments will be forced to close down and the labor sector will be the one mostly affected by it.
