Malacañang Has distanced itself from whatever fate awaits Bureau of Customs Commissioner Nicanor Faeldon regarding the Php 6.4 billion Shabu scandal.

Presidential Communication Secretary Martin Andanar said that it is better to wait for the development of the issue.

However, Sec. Andanar insists that President Rodrigo Duterte maintains his trust and confidence on Comm. Faeldon.

“We will see on the development. Ang hirap lang mag-speculate kasi, like yung huling sinabi ni Presidente, it obviously tells us the President has the confidence and the trust.” Sec. Andanar said during an exclusive interview with DZRH.

Meanwhile, the Palace will leave it to the National Bureau of Investigation to examine the alleged hidden wealth of Commission on Elections Chairman Andres ‘Andy’ Bautista.

According to PCOO Sec. Andanar, the expose of Patricia Bautista, wife of Chair Bautista, should not be ignored because it involves large amounts of money

Sec. Andanar further added that Pres. Duterte expressed concern with the serious problem between Chair Bautista and his wife.

“Tignan natin kung ano ang magiging resulta ng imbestigasyon ng National Bureau of Investigation pero the President listened to the problem of the wife, Mrs. Bautista, for two-three hours. Mukhang seryoso itong problema.” Sec. Andanar said.
