The Makati Prosecutor’s Office on Wednesday concluded its preliminary investigation on the rape with homicide complaint filed against 11 friends of 23-year-old flight attendant Christine Dacera, who was found unconscious in the bathtub of their hotel room last January 1.

In a statement, Mike Santiago, legal counsel for five of the 11 respondents, said the complaint for rape with homicide has been submitted for resolution. Respondents also filed on Wednesday their rejoinder to the reply-affidavit filed by the lawyers of Sharon Dacera, the complainant and victim’s mother.

The National Bureau of Investigation is conducting an investigation on the incident.

Dacera, 23, died on January 1 after a New Year’s Eve celebration with her friends.

Her family believes she was drugged and sexually abused. However, Dacera’s friends refuted the allegations and insisted they did not harm her, saying that they took care of her when she was heavily drunk and until her final moments.

A medico legal report of the Philippine National Police Crime Laboratory ruled out homicide as the cause of death.
