The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) insists that it is disciplining abusive taxi drivers.

This is in response to the accusation of ACTS-OFW Partylist Representative Aniceto Bertiz III that the LTFRB is turning a blind eye on snobbish and contracting taxi drivers.

Congressman Bertiz said that more than 5,000 Overseas Filipino Workers everyday are becoming victims to abusive airport taxi drivers.

According to Attorney Aileen Lizada, spokesperson of the LTFRB, LTFRB personnel have been placed at the airports in order to catch colorum or unlawful taxis, and to respond to the complaints of OFWs.

The LTFRB and the Manila International Airport Authority has an agreement that allows government agency personnel to monitor abusive taxi drivers and to assist passengers.
