Manila is really indeed a bailiwick for some show-stopping Kpop performances this year as another wave of idols made the hearts of their Filipino fans skipped a beat as they perform for the 2019 K-pop World Music Festival on Sunday night, at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Just months after the announcement of the official line-up, fans of Sohee, Kim Donghan, Elris, NCT 127, and Red Velvet all went frenzy and expressed their excitement to see their faves perform once again in the Manila stage. On the day of the concert itself, bringing with them their lightsticks and banners, fans filled the arena with their screams and cheers.

Stirring up the stage as the opening act, Sohee, who originally debuted as a soloist before joining the girl group Elris, made fans swoon with her sexy moves as she danced to her tracks “Mannequin”, “Spotlight,” Hurry Up,” and “Bloom.”

Kim Sohee, debuted in 2017, is known for being a contestant of K-pop Star 6: The Last Chance, in which she emerged as runner-up as a member of KWINs. This is her first time coming to Manila and said that she is grateful to the crowd for singing and dancing to her song.

Donghan, with the real name Kim Donghan, is a solo artist under OUI Entertainment. Being the only male soloist act in the line up of Kpop acts of the night, the 20-year-old singer didn’t fail to snatch hearts of the Manila crowd as he smirked his way into his performances of “Sunset,” “Goodnight Kiss,” “Focus,” “Idea,” and “Ain’t No Time.”

He first became known for competing in the reality survival show Produce 101 season 2, and later debuted in the boy band JBJ before going solo in 2018. Donghan said if he will be given another chance to visit the country, he will surely take a dip in our blue waters since the singer really likes swimming.

The 20-year-old also gave a total fan service to fans as he gave us some sneak peeks of his ‘swimming moves.’

The 5-member girl group ELRIS treat their Filipino BLRIS with performances wearing their ‘Summer Dream” costumes.

The group consisting of Sohee, Yukyung, Bella, Hyeseong, and Karin were all smiles during the interview portion. However, Bella was unable to join the group in their performances as she suffers from a leg injury at the moment. The four other members made sure that Filipino BLRIS will have the best performance of the night with their tracks “Summer Dream,” We, First,” “Heart Bank,” “Will Be Mine,” and “Pow Pow.”

ELRIS is a South Korean girl group formed by Hunus Entertainment in 2017.

One of the main act of the night, SM Entertainment’s NCT 127 made sure that PH NCTzens, including Megastar Sharon Cuneta, will have the best night as they conquered the stage with their hair downs, skinny jeans, and comfortable polos.

Bringing with them their NCT official lightsticks, the arena went green and ‘grassy,’ as what the boys call it, while they were jamming to the performances of Taeyong, Taeil, Johnny, Yuta, Doyoung, Jaehyun, Jungwoo, Mark, and Haechan. The 7-member second sub-unit and Seoul-based unit of the South Korean boy group NCT danced with swag and angst to their bop songs “Fire Truck,” “Cherry Bomb,” “Simon Say,” “Regular,” and their new song “Super Human” from their 4th mini album “NCT #127 WE ARE SUPERHUMAN.”

The unit debuted on July 7, 2016, with their first extended play NCT #127.

The last and definitely much-awaited act of the night, Red Velvet started it off with their ‘red concept’ chart-topping songs “Red Flavor,” and “Power Up.”

Under SM Entertainment, Irene, Seulgi, Wendy, Joy, and Yeri greeted PH Reveluvs or Luvies with happiness as they introduced themselves. They also serenaded their fans with their slow song “Moonlight Melody” which showcased their live vocals. Ending the ment, RV performed their bop tracks “Bad Boy” and “Really Bad Boy.”

The group debuted on August 1, 2014, with the digital single “Happiness” and is performing to the country for the second time. However, PH luvies only have one request to the group:  To come back with their solo concert soon, in which Irene agreed to and even made a promise with their fans.

We are rooting to see you soon, RV!

The KWMF 2019 was organized by DNM Entertainment and All Access Production.
