Former Senator and former PNP Chief Panfilo Lacson fired back against those calling for President Benigno Aquino III to be liable for the death of the SAF 44, based on the findings of the PNP-Board of Inquiry.
According to Lacson, even if the President violated certain protocols, PNOY used his Presidential prerogative in order to avoid violating the said principle.
Malacanang continues to defend the President amid accusations that the PNP violated the chain of command, but critics aren’t buying it. They claim that Malacanang is just making an excuse so that the President will not be blamed for the death of the 44 PNP-SAF commandos.
Meanwhile, President Aquino also is gaining support from Muntinlupa Cong. Rodolfo Biazon.
The former AFP Chief of Staff said that they can’t charge the President for violating the chain of command since he used his Presidential prerogative in ordering his subordinates.
Based on the result of the PNP-BOI’s investigation on the Mamasapano incident last January 25, it states that the President violated the chain of command and had some shortcomings which led to the death of the SAF 44. (with DZRH Rommel Fuertes)
