Communist Party of the Philippines (CCP) Founder Jose Maria ‘Joma’ Sison expressed gratitude to President Rodrigo Duterte after one of the national Democratic Front (NDF) consultants was freed.
In a statement of Sison, he called the release an ‘act of goodwill’ of the president to continue with the peace talk between the government and the CPP-NPA-NDF.
The peace talks between the government and the communist group is scheduled in Oslo, Norway on August 20.
Sison particularly specified NDF consultant Ruben Saluta who was released this morning, will be attending the peace talks.
According to Sison, he and Duterte are friends despite of the ‘word war’ between them and their goal for the Filipino people is more important than any misunderstanding.
