Singer-actor James Reid is currently on the hot seat after he turned down one of the contestants in Idol Philippines.

On its Sunday’s episode, 21-year-old singer Luke Baylon from Tuguegarao City  performed a reggae version of Alicia Keys’ “If I Ain’t Got You.”

However, among the judges of the said show, only Regine Velasquez voted in favor of Baylon while Reid together with Moira dela Torre and Vice Ganda said no and pointed out that there is something lacking with his performance.

Totally impressed on Baylon’s skills in singing, band vocalist JK Labajo expressed his disappointment over how the judges of “Idol Philippines” let go of the contestant.

“It’s a yes for me. I’m not even gonna argue with the other judges. It’s easy to fix flats and sharps and such imperfections, but it’s not that easy to find soul. Kakagigil,” he said in a post.

“Huge shame on the other ‘judges’ for not seeing this guy’s potential. What a shame. Such a shame. I’m ashamed,” he added.

Having enough of the continuous critics against him, Reid tweeted his answer and said that it is never easy to carry the burden of letting go of an artist. In the end, the singer praised Baylon once again and said that the show is still looking for a ‘total package.’
