Apparently, President Rodrigo Duterte wasn’t joking when he advised the public to disinfect used face masks with diesel or gasoline.
During the meeting of the Inter-Agency Task Force on the Management of Emerging Infectious Disease aired on Friday, Duterte said gas can be an alternative to alcohol.
That’s disinfectant,” the President said.
Earlier, Presidential spokesman Harry Roque dismissed the statement of Duterte saying that it was a “joke.”
Joke only. Bakit naman tayo maghuhugas ng gasolina,” Roque said during a televised press briefing.
You try to go inside my brain,” Duterte added.
The Department of Health also downplayed the remarks of President Duterte as a joke.
Especially for gasoline,” DOH Usec. Maria Rosario Vergeire told reporters during a virtual forum.
