The town of Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte, is placed under a State of Calamity due to the onslaught of typhoon Huaning.

During the emergency session of the Municipal Council, the State of Calamity was declared due to the strong winds and rain that destroyed houses of at least 17 families.

60% of the coastal barangays are affected by the storm surge, while 118 fishing boats are already destroyed.

Some families were also evacuated after being stranded in their homes due to flooding.

Other than the coastal areas, mountains are also affected and roads in the area are already washed out.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development already distributed relief goods to affected residents.

Meanwhile, a 4-year old child died after drowning during the height of the strong rains and winds in Brgy. Laguil-Sail, Laoag City.
