The Landao Del Sur Management Crisis Committee has confirmed that hundreds of residents from Marawi City have left their homes since last night following the declaration of Martial law in the whole island of Mindanao by President Rodrigo Duterte.

According to ARMM Vice-Gov. Haron Alrasid Lucman Jr., head of the management crisis committee, Christians and Muslims are not safe from the Maute group, who are being described as violent and vicious terrorists.

Lucman is advising residents who are thinking of evacuating, to proceed to the Mindanao State University and or the Provincial Capitol in Marawi City.

Lucman admits that they were shocked with the attack in Marawi, but the ARMM government is ready to help evacuees who left Marawi amid the on-going tension in their area.

Meanwhile, in a report of Famy Tomambiling of MBC Radyo Natin-Marawi, she and the rest of her family and hundreds of residents decided to leave their homes and stay at the gymnasium in Ramain to avoid getting stuck in the clash between the military and the Maute group.

Tomambiling said that they have yet to receive relief goods.

The distance between Marawi City to Ramain is 8.7 kilometers or 19 minutes by car.
