Hundreds of families flee due to NPA attacks

At least 100 families in North Cotabato evacuated after alleged members of the New People’s Army attacked their place.

C/Insp. Rolando Dillera, Antipas Chief of Police said armed rebels tried to occupy Sitio Malapangi, Brgy. Camutan, resulting in an encounter with the government troops.

Due to the incident, residents in Agod and Malire towns evacuated due to fear of being consumed in the firefight.

The Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer (MSWDO) immediately extended assistance to affected residents that currently are taking shelter at the municipal gym.

It can be recalled that communist rebels have been conducting a series of attacks nationwide, prior to the resumption of the peace talks with the government.
