More than a hundred international and local flights were cancelled and diverted to Clark International Airport yesterday.

According to Manila International Airport Authority General Manager Ed Monreal, a large pothole was seen at the landing asphalt of Runway-06, and that it needed to be repaired immediately.

Flights were diverted to Clark Airport starting at 1:00PM.

Pass 4:00PM, NAIA was reopened and flights diverted to Clark returned through Runway-24.

Due to this, Monreal asked for understanding from the passengers due to problems caused by the pothole in the runway.

Monreal insist that they prioritize the safety of their passengers.
