Some Senators have already expressed their support to Senator Tito Sotto’s Senate-president bid.

According to Senator Gringo Honasan said that he will be happy if Sotto becomes the next Senate President because he considers him as his “best friend forever.”

Honasan added that Sotto becoming the next Senate president is the more acceptable choice for some Senators.

The veteran Senator added that their group is confident because they have the numbers; without them, they could not complete the 13 votes needed.

However, Honasan clarified that what is important in the opening of the 17th Congress in July is to make sure that their group will become independent and fizcalizer, without having to be obstructive.

Even Senator Nancy Binay said that she is supporting Sotto for the Senate Presidency.

Aside from Sotto, Senators’ Alan Peter Cayetano, Franklin Drilon and Koko Pimentel are also in the running for the Senate Presidency.
