Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) advised residents in Mindanao to remain alert for possible floods and landslides.
Heavy rains will be expected in large parts of Mindanao on Friday as an effect of the cold front tail.
Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon (Amihan) will affect areas in northern Luzon.
PAGASA, said residents should not ignore the moderate to heavy rains today in the region since it may cause flashflood and landslides.
Last Thursday, three towns in South Cotabato declared class suspension due to continued rains since Wednesday night.
Among the towns that suspended classes in elementary and secondary levels due to floods were; Lake-Sebu, T’Boli and Sto. Nino.
