According to LTFRB Spokesperson Attorney Aileen Lizada, the Board members will carefully analyze the effect of the increase of the taxi flag down rate.
Last February, the Philippine National Taxi Operators Association (PNTOA) requested to increase their flag down rate from the previous Php 30 per 500 meters to the current Php 40 per 500 meters.
As for the Cordillera Administrative Region the LTFRB has vented to implement a Php 35 flag down rate for the first 400 meters.
Commuters were quick to comment on Sen. Poe’s suggestion saying that the increase is unjustifiable on their side.
According to the PNTOA the continuous increase on the price of fuel is no longer enough to sustain the daily expenses of the drivers and their families.
