The ride-hailing platform Grab Philippines will be seeking a dialogue with the Metro Manila Council following the latter’s latest ordinance of prohibiting vehicles with only a single passenger in EDSA during rush hour.
Grab Country Head Brian Cu plans to set a meeting with the officials of the said government agency together with some of their GRAB drivers.
Cu said that they needed to be aware of the new policy in EDSA which has a direct effect on all TNVS drivers and operators.
Cu also mentioned countries like Indonesia wherein the said policy is also being implemented, but they were able to come up with an alternative that did not affect the livelihoods of TNVS operators.
The MMC consisting of Metro Manila mayors, has approved the resolution that prohibits private vehicles with only a single passenger to pass by EDSA during rush hour.
The MMC hopes that with this new ordinance, it will be able to ease up the traffic problem in EDSA.
