Advancing to the semifinals of the Philippine Basketball Association for the first time in franchise history was no accident for the GlobalPort Batang Pier.

After four years of heartbreaks, despite continuous effort to get better, the Batang Pier finally broke through.

Batang Pier head coach Pido Jarencio, who also makes his first semifinals appearance in his PBA coaching career, praised his players for their sacrifice and hard word.

”Credit talaga sa boys. Deserve nila makapunta sa semis. Talagang deserving ang mga players for this achievement. This is a good team. We’re enjoying the win and this trip to the semifinals. First time namin dito sa semis. Credit talaga sa lahat. Nagtulong-tulong kami to get this,” said Jarencio.

GlobalPort point guard Terrence Romeo was equally ecstatic at his team finally advancing to the semifinals.

”Sobrang sarap ng pakiramdam. Nagbunga talaga ang hard work namin. Credit talaga sa lahat. Nagtulong-tulong kami to get this,” said Romeo.

In particular Jarencio cited Stanley Pringle and Romeo, his two prolific superstars, as undoubtedly the leaders of GlobalPort.

”Big credit din talaga to Terrence (Romeo) and Stanley (Pringle). Wala na talaga kaming masabi sa kanila. They’ve been leading and carrying us talaga,” said Jarencio.
