Brgy. Ginebra needs only one more win to claim the 2019 PBA Governor’s Cup title
The Gin Kings defeated Meralco Bolts, 94-72, on Game Four on Wednesday, Jan. 15, at the Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City.
Justin Brownlee scored 27 points including eight straight points in the second quarter putting Ginebra up 33-20.
Locals Stanley Pringle finished with 21 points and Scottie Thompson added 16 points for Ginebra to take their third win in the best-of-seven title series.
Thompson also started the 13 point-run in the fourth quarter which allowed Ginebra to take their biggest lead in the game, 90-63.
Allen Durham, who received his third Best Import of the Conference Award before the game, registered 21 points and 27 rebounds as he tried to keep the Bolts alive in the game.
Raymond Almazan, who played even after getting diagnosed with a lateral meniscus tear, and Chris Newsome also had 12 points each for Meralco.
Ginebra will try to end the championship series on Game Five on Friday, Jan. 17, at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
