Garin, Sanofi execs face charges anew over Dengvaxia controversy

Former Health Secretary Janet Garin and executives of French pharmaceutical company, Sanofi Pasteur are facing another set of charges in connection with the Dengvaxia controversy.

The couple Manuel and Kristina Ramirez, accompanied by a representative from the Public Attorney’s Office filed a complaint at the Department of Justice in relation with the death of their 11 year old son John Paul Rafael in April after being administered with the said vaccine.

Garin is facing reckless imprudence resulting in homicide, torture resulting in death, torture committed against children and defective and mislabeled product.

Aside from the former Health Secretary, 30 other officials of the Department of Health during the Aquino administration and officials of the Sanofi Pasteur and Zuellig Pharma are facing the same charges.

This is the 12th complaint filed by the PAO in connection with the Dengvaxia controversy and added that this won’t be the last since they are preparing to file more charges against the suspects for the death of many children amid being administered with the anti-dengue vaccine.
