For the country’s scholars, they are still not exempted from paying other dues in schools amid the existence of the Free Tuition Fee Law.
Under Republic Act 10931 or the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act of President Rodrigo Duterte, students will receive free tuition fees in state universities and colleges all over the country.
These include:
City of Malabon University
Eulogio “Amang” Rodriguez Institute of Technology
Marikina Polytechnic College
Navotas Polytechnic College
Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa
Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Marikina
Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Pasay
Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Pasig; among others
However, Kabataan Partylist Rep. Sarah Elago said that this law is not being fully implemented because of the miscellaneous fees that students still need to pay.
The Kabataan Partylist is planning to submit a resolution in Congress for the full implementation of free tuition fees in all state universities and colleges in the country.
