Free trips offered to stranded OFWs in Hong Kong

Overseas Filipino Workers stranded in Hong Kong will be given free airplane trips so that they can go home to the Philippines for Christmas.

According to Cebu Pacific, Flight 5J 110 will have 50 seats for returning OFWs, and is scheduled to leave Hong KongĀ at 7:25PM on Dec. 25 and is expected to arrive in Manila at 9:40PM.

Previously, OFWs seeking to return home this Christmas got upset at PEYA Travel after the agency failed to secure travel tickets.

Meanwhile, Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III is coordinating with the Philippine Airlines and the Department of National Defense in order to bring home the 200 to 1,000 stranded OFWs in Hong Kong.
