A former Miss Venezuela and her former husband were gunned down by thieves in front of their five-year-old daughter in a robbery in Venezuela.
Miss Venezuela 2004, Monica Spear, 29 and Thomas Berry, 39, a British National, were travelling in Puerto-Cabello to Valencia highway when the incident happened.
According to reports, their car hit a sharp object that may have been placed on the road as part of a planned armed robbery.
Five Armed men approached the car as the couple waited for a tow truck.
The family locked themselves in the car but the criminals fired multiple shots that lead to the death of both Spear and Berry.
Their daughter who was with them in the car sustained an injury in the leg, but is not under critical condition.
Five persons have been detained and are being interrogated in connection with the murder, including two who were said to be under the age of 18.
Spear, a rising soap-opera star, was crowned Miss Venezuela in 2004. She finished as the fourth runner-up in the 2005 Miss Universe pageant. (compiled by Karlos Kastrillo)
