Actor Leonardo DiCaprio

There were definitely surprises in the recently concluded Golden Globes Awards.

As the winners were announced, there were awes, big gasps and yes, knowing that the night was being hosted by the riot Tina Fey, the night was peppered with unforgettable moments.

“American Hustle” and “12 Years a Slave” were the big winners of the night, but what makes the Golden Globes extra special this year was that versatile actor Leonardo Dicaprio bagged his Golden Globe trophy after years of disappointments.

Dicaprio won the Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture- Comedy or Musical for his role in the movie The Wolf of Wall Street.

Di Caprio’s stellar performances in movies like Titanic, Revolutionary Road, and Blood Diamond among others were unnoticed by the award giving body.  And though the said movies were all critically acclaimed, it failed to catapult DiCaprio to bring home the prestigious award.

Meanwhile, IT girl Jennifer Lawrence, as expected took home the award for Best Performance by a Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture-Comedy or Musical for her performance in the movie “American Hustle”.

Amy Adams was all ecstatic as she received her award for Best Actress but mentioned that she was more worried with the red carpet than her winning the said award.
