The Philippine national women’s volleyball team lost to Thailand in three straight sets, 25-12, 25-16, 25-10, in the second leg of the 2019 ASEAN Grand Prix on Saturday, Sept. 5, at the Sta. Rosa Multi-purpose Gym in Laguna.
Pimpichaya Kokram scored 11 points for the Thai squad to remain undefeated after two games, and to put them a win away from a gold medal finish.
Mylene Paat, meanwhile, scored seven points and Ces Molina added six points to pace the home squad who missed the services of Premier Volleyball League players Alyssa Valdez, Jia Morado, Jovelyn Gonzaga and Maddie Madayag.
The Philippine team, who currently has a 1-1 win-loss record, will have a complete line-up when they face Indonesia on Sunday, Sept. 6, in Laguna. A victory will allow the Filipina spikers secure second place in the tournament.
