FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament expects to draw in crowds

The FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament is still in six months-time, but inquiries have already started pouring in at the Samahang Basketball ng Pilipinas on how and where Basketball fanatics will be able to acquire tickets to watch the Gilas Pilipinas go up against the powerhouse teams from Europe.

SBP Executive Director Sonny Barrios confirmed that a lot of Basketball fans would want to buy tickets even though they have no idea yet on the ticket prices and what games will be available.

The FIBA Qualifying Tournament will be held at the Mall of Asia Arena.

In line with this, Jordan Clarkson of the Los Angeles Lakers has already applied to be part of the line up of the PHL team.

Clarkson is expected to sign a multi-million dollar contract with the Lakers.  Critics hail Clarkson as Kobe Bryant’s heir.

However, national coach Tab Baldwin said that with or without Clarkson, the PHL team will have difficulties in all their games because all of the European teams are strong, especially team France with its star player, San Antonio Spurs guard Tony Parker.  (with Chris Capulso)
