Effective this February 13, the flagdown rate for taxis officially returns to Php 40.
The Php 40 flagdown rate for the first 500 meters was put into effect by the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board. There will be no price movement for succeeding meters.
This changes will be implemented in the whole country, except in the Cordillera Administrative Region.
Some taxi drivers, though, are complaining that they don’t feel the 40 pesos flagdown rate. The said ordinance was planned to resolve the price increase of petroleum products.
LTFRB insists though that the complaints of the drivers are not justified. The agency believes that many taxi drivers profited from not following the provisional 30 pesos flagdown rate.
