Social media giant Facebook will be going head to head with Netflix and HBO Originals as ‘Facebook TV’ is set to debut on television screens this mid- August.
Reports from Bloomberg say that Facebook could be ready to release its first line-up of original series lasting from five to 10 minutes.
From short series, Facebook will soon transition to lengthier line-ups of 20 to 30 minutes per episode.
Facebook announced that it needs more room for advertisers than its packed News Feed.
Facebook TV was meant to ease the company’s advertising traffic and simultaneously lead to the company’s push towards longer forms of entertainment.
