EXO returns to Manila for a two-day concert last February 25-26.
The South Korean-Chinese boy group EXO from SM Entertainment visited Manila for their 3rd world tour titled EXO’rDIUM. The group is composed of nine members namely Suho, Xiumin, Lay, Baekhyun, Chanyeol, D.O., Kai, and Sehun.
Unfortunately, Lay wasn’t able to join the boys due to prior commitments.
The group wowed their loyal fans at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, Quezon City for two days as they showcase their hit songs from 2012 until now. The crowd was already hyped up even prior to the opening of the concert showing their love and support to the boys; some even lined up hours before the concert started to see them enter the venue.
They opened the concert with their remastered version of their debut song MAMA followed by their hit song in 2016, Monster. The performance was tweaked a little compared to the original choreography when they added Baekhyun’s solo dance performance.
One of the highlights of the concert was when they lined up and had Chanyeol play the guitar for their EXO Acoustic Medley segment. The performance started when D.O. sang the acoustic version of ‘My Lady’ followed by ‘My Turn to Cry’, ‘Moonlight’, ‘Call Me Baby’, ‘Love, Love, Love’, and ‘Lady Luck’.
Another groundbreaking performance they presented for their beloved EXO-Ls with is EXO’s Keep on Dancing segment composed of the live Korean version of Drop That with Chanyeol on electric guitars, dance version of Let Out the Beast, Lucky, and Run.
Of course, the event will not be complete if the boys didn’t perform their song that catapulted them to stardom, Growl then followed by Lucky One, one of the title tracks from double-titled album, Ex’Act.
During their talk time, almost all members mentioned how they still have in memory the song Hawak Kamay by Yeng Constantino when they performed it live in front of their Filipino fans during their first-ever performance at the SM Mall of Asia Open Grounds in 2013. Chen, D.O, and Baekhyun even sang a snippet of the said song.
Suho also shared how he is looking forward to visiting Boracay and Cebu, and how he loves eating Philippine mangoes. Chen also mentioned how amazed they are with the Filipino fans that despite most Filipino fans don’t speak their language, they still sing along with them.
Kai, on the other hand, who was having stomachache at the time, apologized again for not being able to perform for the Filipino EXO-Ls the last time they were here in January 2016 due to his injury and assured the fans that because of their love and support, he didn’t even feel that he is sick. While D.O. promised that when they return to Manila next time, they’ll show even a more satisfying and awesome performance.
The boys wrapped up their concert with a song from their extended play released in 2012, Angel.
EXO’rDIUM in Manila was brought to you by SM Entertainment, Dream Maker Entertainment, and PULP Live World.
