One of South Korea’s successful boyband, EXO comes back with a brand new track from their self-titled 5th repackage album ‘Love Shot” and has been hitting the top spots of the charts worldwide.
On December 13, the band released ‘Love Shot” music video, just weeks after they revealed their 5th album ‘Don’t Mess Up My Tempo.”In addition to the title track, the repackaged album contains several other new tracks such as ‘Wait’, ‘Trauma’ and the Chinese version of ‘Love Shot’.
The acts latest is a smooth tune that takes aim at figuring out romance. Fronted by heavy 808 bass, layered vocals and quirky elements like gunshot effects and warped synths, “Love Shot” slinks along from start to finish, rising and falling in intensity in anticipation of the groovy “na na na”s of the chorus ahead of the titular hook.
The song comes to a conclusion in the most explosive way, but not before slowing things down temporarily with an evocative bridge from D.O and Suho and raps from Sehun and Chanyeol, bolstered by harmonizing from who sounds to be Baekhyun, before ending things off with one final rendition of the addictive choral refrain.
‘Love Shot’ shot its way up to the top of the iTunes Albums chart in Egypt, UAE, Saudi Arabia, India, Palestine, Libya, Bahrain, Oman, Lebanon, and 51 other countries worldwide.
On December 18, Billboard announced that EXO’s latest track is the #1 song on the World Digital Song Sales chart for the week of December 22.
EXO recently earned the title of quintuple million sellers and made history by becoming the first K-Pop group, who made their debut after year-2000, to sell over 10 million albums in Korea.
