Former House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez has tested positive for coronavirus disease, his daughter confirmed Thursday.
In a text message, Finance Assistant Secretary Paola Alvarez said the former speaker is currently recovering in their home in Davao Del Norte.
“He is still in Davao del Norte and is recovering at home. He is not or was intubated,” the younger Alvarez said.
The former speaker joins the likes of Majority Leader Martin Romualdez, Negros Oriental Rep. Jocelyn Limkaichong, and Abra Rep. Joseph Bernos, among others, who contracted the viral disease.
