Five-time UAAP Most Valuable Player Marck Espejo headlines the 14-man line-up of the Philippine national men’s volleyball team for the upcoming 2019 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games.
Bryan Bagunas, who currently plays for the Japanese volleyball team Oita Miyoshi Weisse Adler, also made it to the national squad. The Filipino spiker is expected to return to the Philippines from Japan by Nov. 25, days before the start of the sports meet.
The line-up under head coach Dante Alinsunurin also includes John Vic De Guzman, Mark Alfafara, Joshua Umandal, Ran Abadilla, Ish Polvorosa, Jessie Lopez, Joshua Retamar, Kim Malabunga, Francis Saura, Rex Intal, Ricky Marcos, and Jack Kalingking.
Kim Dayandante and Peter Torres got cut from the roster after being diagnosed with spontaneous pneumothorax.
The volleyball tournament of the 2019 SEA Games will start its run from Nov. 28 to Dec. 10 at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium of the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex in Malate, Manila.
